[EN]: Just this morning, Activision announced Call of Duty: Ghosts has reached over $1 billion in sales on day 1 of its release via retail stores worldwide. With the launch of the game yesterday, Ghosts is already the most played game on Xbox Live; players have had longer average player sessions than in Black Ops II and Modern Warfare 3 during the same initial period, according to Microsoft.
Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard CEO, said: “More people have played Call of Duty this year than ever before, logging four billion hours of gameplay. And in the last 12 months, Call of Duty®: Black Ops II, including its digital content, generated more revenues than any other console game ever has in a single year. Although it is too early to assess sell-through for Call of Duty: Ghosts, it’s launching at a time when the franchise has never been more popular.”
Though the game is not out for the PS4 and Xbox One, Ghosts has also become the most-pre-odered game for both upcoming consoles.
With the midnight release at 15,000 locations worldwide plus sales on Tuesday morning of one of the best gaming franchises of this generation of consoles, millions of fans of Call of Duty should be enjoying the game just about now. I wonder though how many are still waiting to play the game on the PS4 and Xbox One.
