A day after the announcement of the new Thor character, Marvel announced on The Colbert Report there will be a new Captain America taking the place of Steve Rogers. Sam Wilson, Rogers’ partner, will become the newest Captain America.

For fans who have followed the comics, this is not a surprise. The first African-American was Isaiah Bradley back in 2003 in the limited series Truth: Red, White and Black.

The change will take place in an upcoming issue of the Captain America comics.
