Earlier today, Sony Computer Entertainment announced a global partnership with online music service Spotify to bring this familiar music experience to users of PlayStation devices.

Sony welcomes Spotify as its music partner to bring the upcoming PlayStation Music starting Spring 2015.  The arrival of PlayStation Music featuring Spotify will bring Sony’s Music Unlimited service down to a close on March 29, 2015.

“Music is a core component of the entertainment offering that consumers expect from Sony, and our goal with PlayStation Music is to provide the most compelling music experiences to the millions of PlayStation Network users around the world,” stated Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and Group Executive responsible for the Network Entertainment Business. “This partnership represents the best in music and the best in gaming coming together, which will benefit the vibrant and passionate communities of both Spotify and PlayStation Network. We’re thrilled to make Spotify the foundation of our strategy with PlayStation Music.”

Users with a current subscription to Sony’s music service will receive free access for up to 30 days to Music Unlimited, good through March 29, 2015, along with an introductory trial for Spotify Premium.
