Nintendo announced recently the arrival of Devil’s Third for the Wii U to the Americas in Q4. The shooter game with melee combat developed by Valhalla Game Studios has had negative criticism because of frame rates problems, inefficient camera angles, a weird combination of action à la Ninja Gaiden with third-person shooter gameplay, and other issues.
Still, the support of Nintendo as a publisher in the Americas could bring more confidence once the game comes out in Q4.
“Devil’s Third delivers a unique combination of shooting and melee combat to provide Wii U owners with a fresh action-oriented experience,” said Valhalla Game Studios founder Tomonobu Itagaki (who left Tecmo in 2008). “We’ve been working hard on the game and can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it later this year.”
Valhalla Game Studios will publish a standalone version of the game for Windows PC with “a multiplayer experience tailored for the platform,” while the Wii U version will feature a full multiplayer mode and a single-player story mode.
