According to a report at The New Yorker, game creator and producer Hideo Kojima has left Konami this past Friday after 29 years. An unnamed source told TNY the departure ceremony happened at the in-house studio Kojima worked for a long time, Kojima Productions.

During the emotional adieu, the famed producer did not see important people from Konami such as company president Hideki Hayakawa and CEO Sadaki Kaneyoshi at the party. Instead, Kojima saw colleagues he has worked with, includeing many who worked with him on the last title.

Many fans of Kojima’s work may wonder what he’ll do next without Konami. Time will tell.
