During the first two days of the launch of Japanese company’s newest product, Nintendo triumphed with Switch sales records in the Americas.

According to reporter Nick Wingfield from New York Times in an interview with Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé.

It is highly unusual for a game system to make such a record especially when not launched during the Fall or holiday season in the US.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also saw success by becoming “the best-selling standalone launch title” in the company’s history, selling more copies than Super Mario 64.

Will Switch see the same success the Wii accomplished with more than 100 million consoles sold?
