Nintendo 3DS XL
- Nintendo announces a bigger 3DS model, known as the Nintendo 3DS XL (called the 3DS LL in Japan).
- The screen will be 90% bigger (an exact measure of 4.88 inches for the top screen, and 4.18 inches for the bottom one).
- It will have a longer battery life for DS and 3DS games, but the AC adapter will not come with the portable. The same original adapter will be used for this new model.
- In Japan, It will be available in three colors: white, silver and black, and red and black, and it will make its appearance on July 28.
- In the US, the new model will be on sale on August 19 in three colors: black, black and blu, and black and red.
- New SD card with 4 GBs
- No new Circle Pad Pro announced for new model; no such new buttons or right circle pad built-in in new model. It could have been a great opportunity to add them.

Super Smash Bros.
- Nintendo mentioned Namco Bandai is working on the next version of Super Smash Bros. with series creator Masahiro Sakurai and his Project Sora team at the helm.
- Contributing in the development of the next SSB are Tales director Yoshito Higuchi, producer/director of Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs., Tetsuya Akatsuka, and others.
