[EN]: How time flies. I remember how often I used to use Windows Live Messenger, formerly known as MSN Messenger. Since late July, 1999, MSN Messenger became one of the most well-known instant messenger applications, back then when AOL Instant Messenger was at the number one spot. Over the years, MSN Messenger reached the top position and is currently the number one IM software for PCs. I still use it to contact some of my friends and relatives and to find out what email I get without having to do login. Millions of people use Hotmail.com or Live.com for their email accounts that are used for Windows Live Messenger and Xbox Live.

Earlier today, TheVerge.com mentioned that many sources indicate Microsoft will be retiring the Windows Live Messenger application to be integrated into Skype. According to the blog post, an announcement from Microsoft might come this week.

Windows users can already sign in to Skype with their Hotmail/Live/Outlook account by merging both accounts. If you haven’t done it so, you will be using your Microsoft account to login to Skype. Users can also sign in with their Facebook account.
