[EN]: Patrice Désilets, the creator of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, is taking the company he used to work for to court by suing Ubisoft for $400,000.
Désilets was fired by Ubisoft last month. After leaving Ubisoft for THQ in 2010, he returned to Ubisoft when THQ Montréal was shut down and Ubisoft bought the assets of the game 1666.
Désilets wanted creative control on the development of 1666, but a disagreement with Ubisoft chairman Yves Guillemot led to his firing. For Ubisoft, Désilets had way too much creative freedom.
The AC creator was let go on May 7th. He did not have time to remove this belongings. He was escorted out of THQ.
According to the post in Game Informer, he seeks the following:
- Reimbursement of all expenses through May 7, 2013 (totaling $35,000)
- Severance in the amount of $250,000
- Continuation of insurance through May 6, 2014
- Relocation and job search fees in the amount of $25,000
- Damages in the amount of $100,000 for misrepresenting the facts of the termination (Ubisoft stated that Désilets departed)
Désilets also wants the rights to 1666 if the development of the title gets cancelled.
