Out of all the 12,300 limited-edition 20th Anniversary PS4 consoles, the very first special unit (No. 00001/12300) auctioned by Sony in Japan finally got an owner.
The bid by Sony Computer Entertainment on Yahoo! Japan Auction ended yesterday with a user bidding only ¥15,135,000 (about US$129,000) for the special console.
Sony Computer Entertainment announced late last year the availability of the retro-looking PlayStation 4 consoles to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the parent company’s entry into the video game field with its own PlayStation 1 game system.
It only took 54 hours and 1,585 bids for the auction to come to an end.
Once the transaction is final, SCE will donate the money from the auction plus a matching gift to Save the Children Japan.
