As Flash is beginning to fade away for online video use, Twitch starts its transition to HTML5 with video player controls. The top live streaming video platform for gaming announced yesterday the new redesign consists on replacing the video player controls from Flash to HTML and JavaScript.
“The video itself is still in Flash underneath the controls. However, this is an important step to releasing the much-anticipated full HTML5 player,” says the post written by Georgia Price, Product Marketing Manager at Twitch.
The new changes will be noticeable on channel pages first.
