During the late hours across the US, Nintendo announced via social media the arrival of a Splatoon 2 Global Testfire event coming to Nintendo Switch in March. During this demo, gamers will be able to try out four weapons, including the remixed versions of the Splat Roller and Splat Charger, along with the new Splat Dualies, a Nintendo announcement says.
The announcement also adds a few more details about what’s coming in the game. Among them, Private Battle Spectator View (“up to two non-players to participate in a Private Battle as camera operators to observe all the action from multiple angles”), LAN Play (“allowing up to 10 docked systems – eight players and two spectators – to connect via wired LAN;” no Internet connection required). “Local wireless play is perfect for your regular gaming get-togethers, but LAN Play is where it’s at when you want to organize a serious tournament event with your fellow players.”
For amiibo fans, they will be glad to hear the Splatoon amiibo figures will be compatible with Splatoon 2. Also, an upcoming Nintendo Switch app for smartphones will also be compatible with the game. The app will enhance online play by letting players set play times with others appearing on a player’s Nintendo Switch friend list or social media accounts. The Voice chat feature will also let friends communicate via smart devices; once teams are set, the voice chat will work with friends on the same team.
The six one-hour special demos will take place from March 24-26, at the following times:

3:00-3:59 p.m. Eastern / 12:00-12:59 p.m. Pacific
