The creators of the 1980’s popular arcade game, Bandai Namco, have filed a trademark in Europe for “Pac-Man Maker.” By the sound of the title, it seems like Bandai Namco is creating a level-creator game similar to Super Mario Maker by Nintendo.
The trademark info appears on the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s web site, without any detailed information. The specific page does show April, 18, 2017, as the date Pac-Man Maker was filed in London by Mewburn Ellis LLP on behalf of Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. The examination was completed today.
The revelation of this trademark does not necessarily confirm the game is in the works. It could just be to protect a future project or the company’s brand.
