Take-Two Interactive announced the acquisition of Kerbal Space Program, a physics-based space simulation game created by Mexican indie developer Squad. Since its release on Windows PCs, Squad has sold more than two million of copies of KSP especially on Steam where the game has a very high user score of 97%.
The current team in charge of the game at Squad will continue offering support and development; that includes future game updates as well as expansions such as the Kerbal Space Program: Making History expansion.
“We have been impressed with Kerbal Space Program since its launch, and we are committed to grow this unique experience while continuing to support its passionate community,” said Michael Worosz, SVP and Head of Corporate Development and Independent Publishing at Take-Two Interactive. “We view Kerbal Space Program as a new, long-term franchise that adds a well-respected and beloved IP to Take-Two’s portfolio as we continue to explore opportunities across the independent development landscape.”
