Players of Puzzle Fighter, a mobile game based on the 1997 arcade title of the same name, will be disappointed to know that the title made by Capcom Game Studio Vancouver will be shut down.
According to a post on Capcom Unity, Puzzle Fighter for iOS and Android, launched originally in November 2017, will be removed from both app stores on July 1, while the servers get to be shut down on July 31. The reason for the removal: the team will work on the company’s flagship Dead Rising franchise.
As a token of their appreciation, Capcom will be giving players 10,000 in-game gem currency, as well as making new characters to the game (Regina, Dr. Wily and Ada Wong) available free of charge. Two more stages, Darminor and Uroboros, will also be available for free. On Aprl 23, in-app purchases will be disabled, the new mentioned stages will be available, and character Ada Wong will make her debut in the game. Later on, the previous Classic Mode event will be made available until the shutdown.
“We appreciate the fans who have supported Puzzle Fighter until this point. We thank you for playing the game and hope to ensure your remaining time with Puzzle Fighter is an enjoyable one,” says the post.
The game’s soundtrack is already playable on SoundCloud.
