Discord, the popular chat app for PC and mobiles, announced its Nitro Games catalog will be removed from its paid Nitro subscription service.
According to a post on its website, Discord says they’ve learned a lot over the last year and noticed most paid users did not play most titles. Because of this, the titles under the Nitro Games catalog will no longer be available on October 15, 2019. Subscribers can start canceling their subscription if they so wish starting today for a refund.
In order to convince users to keep their paid service, the $9.99 Nitro will have more features and other enhancements. The people at Discord are also asking for features they’d like to see.
Discord has recently added Server Boost, “a way for Nitro subs to support their favorite communities and share their perks with everyone in a server,” as well as Go Live, an easy way to stream gameplay.
In addition, they are doubling the upload size allowed to 100mb for Nitro subscribers and “reducing the number of boosts needed to reach Level 3 by more than half — from 50 to 20.”
Users who have purchased games will continue to have access to them on the service.
