EA’s Respawn Entertainment is taking its FPS franchise to the Oculus Rift platform with the announcement of Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.
The exclusive action-packed VR game, to be published by Oculus Studios sometime in 2020, takes players back to Europe during World War II.
For the people at Respawn, the development of this game is perhaps the most expensive VR project. Currently, more than 180 employees are working on this game. Respawn started this project when it was still an independent developer.
With the upcoming game, players will be able to play more than 50 levels and will feature multiplayer gaming.
During the making of the game, Respawn met with WWII veterans to interview them and also to take them back to the exact place in Europe where the war happened.
If you want to know more about the game, check out the interview with Oculus exec producer Michael Doran (who worked with Respawn at EA before) and Respawn Entertainment game director Peter Hirschmann on Venture Beat.
