Nintendo is not planning to launch a new Switch model in 2020

According to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, the company “has no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model during 2020.”

These comments were made public via the company’s recent financial results briefing.

Though some fans may feel disappointed because they want a more powerful Switch after many rumors and reports about a Switch Pro, fans will only see a new special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizon design coming on March 13 to Japan and North America and on March 20 to Europe and Australia.

It seems like Nintendo doesn’t feel the need of a more powerful Switch now that the company has sold more than 52 million units since the console’s launch.
