As seen on the LinkedIn profile of Nick van Dyk, co-president of Activision-Blizzard Studios, the company is at work on TV adaptations of Overwatch and Diablo.
In the most recent update of his profile, he says he is an “Executive producer of Diablo, a TV adaptation of Blizzard Entertainment’s IP, rendered in anime style. The show is currently in pre-production for distribution worldwide through Netflix.” So far, there has been no announcement from Netflix.
Later in the page, van Dyk mentions that with his creative partner, he “developed and sold an animated series based Blizzard’s Overwatch franchise.”
One more game-related mention is the one about Call of Duty. Though his profile says he and his creative partner “authored development strategy for the Call of Duty cinematic and television universe,” an article on PCGamersN says movie director Stefano Sollima mentioned the movie is currently on hold. “(The) idea of expanding the universe, the world of Call of Duty [into movies] is no longer (at the moment) an industrial priority of the group, of Activision,” Sollima told PCGamersN.
