Along with the cancellation of live events such as E3 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, EA has decided to turn EA Play Live 2020 into a digital event this year.
As seen on an EA post on Twitter, “EA Play Live goes digital in 2020. See you on June 11th at 4pm PST… World premieres, news and more!”
EA Play has been a three-day event from 2016 to 2018 hosted the same week as E3, featuring demos, live music, interviews, content creators and fans trying out games for three days.
In 2019, EA skipped its press conference and replaced it with many live streams with two days of fun at EA Play.
EA Play Live 2020 will take place on what was supposed to be the last day of E3 2020.
