WBIE and NetherRealm Studios announced Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, an expansion for the popular MK11 video game, is coming to consoles and PC via digital purchase on May 26.
Aftermath, the first-ever story expansion in the franchise, will introduce three new characters, including Fujin, Sheeva and RoboCop. Story-wise, “Aftermath expands the critically acclaimed story campaign with an all-new, cinematic narrative centered around trust and deceit.”
Also, the expansion will feature the voice and likeness of Peter Weller, actor who played the role of RoboCop in the 1987 and 1990 films.
Included as well in the expansion are new stages, Friendships (aka defeat adversaries with kindness), and additional finishing moves “that use the environment to destroy opponents”.
Pre-ordering will get fans the Eternal Klash Skin Pack at launch, including “Unbound Rage” Scorpion, “Son of Arctika” Sub-Zero and “Kori Power” Frost.
Players who already own the base game will have the option to buy the Kombat Pack DLC and the upcoming Aftermath for $49.99 ($39.99 without the Kombat Pack DLC). Interested gamers who haven’t played MK11 yet and want to get the base game, Kombat Pack and Aftermath, can purchase the Aftermath Kollection for $59.99.
Though the download version is coming first, the physical version will be available in June only in the Americas.
