After the popular Central Florida convention was first postponed from April to June, MegaCon Orlando 2020 has been cancelled.
After it was first postponed from April to June, MegaCon Orlando 2020 has been cancelled, the organizers announced via the event’s web site.
Central Florida’s most-popular convention for fans of Star Wars, Marvel, DC Comics, Star Trek, Harry Potter and more, will not have its full 2020 edition. Instead, it will make its return next year from March 18-21, 2021.
However, a shorter and smaller MegaCon will still take place at the Orange County Convention Center on Halloween weekend. The three-day MEGACON Orlando: LIMITED EDITION event, from October 30 to November 1, “will be limited to 25,000 tickets and once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
“All admission tickets will automatically be transferred to MEGACON Orlando: LIMITED EDITION. If you purchased a Thursday ticket, you will receive an upgrade to a Friday ticket for October. If you purchased a youth ticket, you will receive a complimentary upgrade to an adult ticket. Check your email for specifics,” says the post about purchased tickets. Also, fans will have until May 31, 2020, to request for a refund if they don’t want to attend MegaCon Orlando: Limited Edition. People will also receive refunds automatically for Special Events and Epic Photo Ops (which includes autographs). Currently, organizers are “working on the guest list and hope to have the guest list announced by August 1st.”
Exhibitors also have options: apply for MegaCon Orlando: Limited Edition and have their fees transferred if first accepted, transfer booth fees to Megacon Orlando 2021 at this year’s rate, or to get a full refund.

Florida SuperCon also announced its cancellation for this year’s event. “Supercon had previously postponed from our original May 2020 dates to the July 4th weekend, but as we continue working closely with our colleagues at the Miami Beach Convention Center and local officials regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 in Florida and around the country, it’s clear that July is no longer a viable option for our event. The next edition of Florida Supercon in Miami will take place in 2021.”
With the cancellation for the 2020 edition, organizers will announce “more online events and activities” to be able to connect fans with celebrities, creators as well as ways to support small business and individual creators.
All purchased tickets for Florida Supercon 2020 “will be automatically refunded.”
