Cast members of Saturday Night Live ended the show’s 45th season with the sketch titled “Dream” showing the way life in NYC used to be for them before the coronavirus, with a brief appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog and celebrities.
Actress Cecily Strong starts the emotional sketch appearing in bed talking to her mom by phone. Once she goes to sleep, she starts living again the happy days of what before was her normal life in her dream. SNL cast members Colin Jost, Michael Che, Mikey Day, and others, also dream of their own happy days.
In her dream scene, Strong appears to be at an opera and unexpectedly enough, it’s one about “Sonic the Hedgehog: The Musical.”
Today, Twitter user Bran (@BranFlaixx) told followers the Sonic image he did was used in that dream scene on Saturday Night Live.
Yes, that image of Sonic you may have seen on @nbcsnl last night is a piece of fan-art I made in 2017.
I personally think this whole situation is pretty funny, but they seriously need to be more careful about where they get their art assets from (not to mention giving credit). pic.twitter.com/p3QYqCuPKt

Another Twitter user (@SMPMusicAndArt) replied by saying SNL used the Sonic logo and he proves it with the photo of an old .blend file.
Also they use my fanmade logo from 2018.https://t.co/fnkEl2k6yZ

Digging the original .blend file and found it! YES! I still kept it. pic.twitter.com/i3U3Ep7hvh

The letters in “The Musical” have also appeared on a fan-made Sonic video at the Random Encounters YouTube channel.
