According to The Information, Microsoft has expressed interest in acquiring Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE).
Last month, sources told CNBC that AT&T has been planning to sell WBIE for $4 billion.
With today’s report, Microsoft now joins companies such as Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive, planning to purchase WBIE.
For Microsoft and the other companies interested, purchasing WBIE would mean the addition of various studios, such as NetherRealm, Rocksteady, TT Games, and many others.
With more studios, Microsoft could bring more high-profile franchises, owned by WB, exclusively to its Xbox consoles.
