Microsoft and Asobo Studios announced the launch of the Microsoft Flight Simulator Top Gun: Maverick expansion has been delayed.
This disappointing news comes after Paramount Pictures decided to release the film Top Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022. The film was supposed to make its debut this year during Thanksgiving weekend.
Top Gun: Maverick is not the only Tom Cruise film being postponed. Mission: Impossible 7 will make its debut on September 30, 2022 instead of its previously-scheduled May 27, 2022 (the new date for the Top Gun sequel).
Paramount made the decision to postpone its high-budget films due to “the current conditions of COVID and its Delta variant around the world,” as seen on Deadline.
Microsoft had previously previously announced that the game’s expansion will be released “alongside the movie.”
