After seven weeks in the top spot, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl landed in 2nd place for the first time during the week of January 3-9, 2022, with 41,354 copies sold.
Both Pokémon games lost the lead against another Nintendo title, Mario Party Superstars (with 45,874 copies sold). The latest Nintendo tennis game was released three weeks before Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
Also, no new games reach the Top 30 during the first full week of the new year.
