Nintendo announced yesterday the classic N64 title Pokémon Snap will arrive on June 24 via the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription service.
The first-person Pokémon photography game was developed by Hal Laboratory. It made its debut first in Japan in March 1999, followed by its North American release in July 1999. It arrived at PAL territories in September 2000. For many fans, it was the first time many Pokémon appeared in real-time 3D.
In Pokémon Snap, Professor Oak sends Todd Snap, a Pokémon photographer, to Pokémon Island, a site with a diverse range of climatic and geographic zones where Pokémon live reasonably unaffected with humans. It’s Todd’s goal to take high-quality photos of Pokémon to corroborate Professor Oak’s scientific data.
Since its original release, the game got a sequel, New Pokémon Snap, released last year.
