Via social media, both Square Enix and Luminous Productions announced their upcoming game Forspoken will be delayed once again, this time until January 24, 2023.
It is the second delay announced for this game. The game was originally supposed to have made its debut back in May 24 of this year. However, Square Enix and its subsidiary announced in March of this year the title was going to need extra time to polish the game for its release in October. Still, Square Enix and Luminous see more time is required.
“As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase,” Square Enix and Luminous Productions said via Twitter. “We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey. Your excitement for the game inspires us every day and we cannot wait to share more about Forspoken with you later this summer!”
With Forspoken delayed once again, it joins the list of other games postponed until next year such as Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and Stalker 2.
