Bayonetta 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 28

Nintendo surprised fans today announcing Bayonetta 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022.

After her appearance in Smash Ultimate, the Umbra Witch is ready to return in the latest chapter of the franchise. Bayonetta will have to team up with some well-known characters, including the enigmatic Viola, and a plethora of other Bayonettas in this third entry in the Bayonetta series to halt human-made Homunculi from causing mayhem.

The newest trailer features her new Demon Masquerade ability to smash, slam, and knock down her adversaries, along with other interesting details, according to Nintendo and Platinum Games.

• A Bounty of Bayonettas: Meet a veritable coven of Bayonettas, each more fabulous than the last, while fighting through the streets of Tokyo, the mountains of China and beyond! Along the way, find out if this arcane alliance can really save humanity and what fate awaits this bunch of Bayonettas.
• Rough Up Rivals as Viola: In addition to Bayonetta, players will also control the feisty witch-in-training Viola, who is ready to unleash hell on the Homunculi with her sword and her capricious companion, the feline demon Cheshire.

Platinum Games also mentioned a new feature called “Naive Angel Mode” to switch character models during gameplay. With this feature on, Bayonetta and others will remain fully clothed. In previous titles, Bayonetta has used her clothes to attack enemies causing her to show more of her body.

A Trinity Masquerade Edition will also be on sale at the My Nintendo Store and select retailers. It will come with a full-color 200-page art book and the whole Bayonetta trilogy with three reversible game cases, one for each title. Players will have to buy the first two titles separately to complete the collection. Physical copies of the original Bayonetta game will be on sale for $29.99 USD at select stores and at My Nintendo Store starting September 30.
