Though Nintendo kept the lead in Japan game console sales for the week of July 4-10, 2022, there are still problems regarding the availability of next-generation consoles.
The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition saw a deduction from 4,333 units (in the previously reported week of June 27 – July 3) down to 892. The Xbox Series X faced the same issue from 9,756 down to 509. Even the number of Nintendo Switch OLED units was reduced from 43,789 to 26,257.
Overall, Nintendo sold 66,243 Switch units and 206 New 2DS LL units to remain in first place. Meanwhile, Sony stayed in second place with 13,361 PS5 units and 12 PS4 units. Microsoft sold 4,944 Xbox Series units.
