The inventory management roguelike game Backpack Hero will enter Early Access on August 15th, indie game dev Jaspel announced last Friday.
While the demo version is available to anyone interested in trying the game, the upcoming Early Access will include new features along with two brand-new characters, new items, new weapons, and more.
For people who are not familiar with Backpack Hero, the game begins with an adventurer who explores dungeons, picks up items and fights against enemies with whatever is available in their backpacks.
The game uses a convincing and worthy inventory management that makes players think about how to store items needed to advance in the game. It’s strategy.
Tote the Frog and CR-8 the Robot are the two new characters fans will be able to play with Early Access.
Jasper released the following info about the new features:
- Hundreds of Items: Each item has its own unique effect and, depending on where you place it in your backpack, can be powerful when used in the arrangement.
- Multiple fun characters: Adventure through the dungeons as Purse the Packrat, Tote the Toad or CR8 the Robot.
- 40+ Enemies to Battle: Test your mettle and your organizational skills against powerful enemies small to large to everything in between.
- Endless Dungeons to Explore: Randomly generated dungeons means that not a single playthrough will be exactly like the last.
