While the Nintendo sees success in Japanese game console sales with the Switch, Sony has seen a decrease in sales of both PS5 console models that started on September 2nd, most likely due to the price increase of the console, controllers and other devices.
During the first full week of September, Nintendo sold a combined amount of 67,473 Switch units, with the OLED molde being the one selling the most units (46,479). Meanwhile, Sony just sold 11,007 PS5 units. There may be hope for Sony for more console sales with the upcoming PS5 Pro in Japan, however, the high price of the PS5 Pro (¥119,980; about USD$846.80) could be a challenge. Microsoft continues to lag behind with just 1,482 Xbox Series sold for the mentioned week.
