Adult Swim announced today Samurai Jack will return to TV in 2016 with creator and executive producer Genndy Tartakovsky. Unlike the original debut on Cartoon Network, the cartoon will be shown on Adult Swim’s Toonami block to continue “the epic story of Samurai Jack.”

The people under the helm of Tartakovsky are currently working in the production of the cartoon in Los Angeles at the Cartoon Network Studios.

For fans of the series, this is fantastic news. For those who did not see the cartoon, it is about the adventures of Samurai Jack who must travel back in time and defeat the evil demon Aku. The animated series has won many awards including 1 OIAF Award, 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, and 6 Annie Awards.

Fans should be extremely excited. #JackIsBack.
