[EN]: It has been 29 years since the release of Deus Ex Machina (no relation to Deus Ex) and the people at Automata are bringing gamers a re-imagination of the classic 1984 title. The game is a surreal experience that takes players through their lives, from the moments before they are born until beyond death, with challenges of temptation and danger in between. Sir Lee Chirstoper Lee narrates the story that was originally told by Jon Pertwee (who played as Doctor Who in the 1970s). Other voiceover stars in the game are the late Ian Dury (The Fertilizer), Chyna Whyne (The Machine), Chris Madin (The Defect), Joaquim de Almeida (The Defect Police), Mary Carew (The Teacher), Sulene Fleming (The Night Nurse).
According to the game creator Mel Croucher,
“All I had to do was stay alive for another thirty years and wait for the technology to catch up. That and wait for the wonder of crowd-funding to be born. Back in the day, we never sold out to banks, advertisers or parasites, we only ever dealt direct with our players. Now we can reward them in advance thanks to mechanisms like Kickstarter.”
