Nike+ FuelBand SE: Available tomorrow | Disponible mañana

[EN]: I’ve just downloaded the app though I wish I had the product as well. Yeah, the Nike+ FuelBand SE, the newest version of Nike’s physical activity tracking device, was shown today in NYC.

It works by wearing the small device on your wrist, and it connects seamlessly with your iPhone or iPad via the new FuelBand app (available now) which can update your profile to share it with a big web community of sports enthusiasts.

According to Nike, “NikeFuel remains at the heart of the experience, and is a single, universal way to measure all kinds of activities—from a morning workout to a big night out.” The new FuelBand is “uniquely designed to measure whole-body movement no matter age, weight or gender, NikeFuel tracks a user’s active life.”

The new version of FuelBand comes with Bluetooth LE 4.0 built-in, saving power when connecting it to an iPhone. It is also water-resistant (is it water-proof?!).

Among the many options in the FuelBand SE, there are Sessions (track specific activities daily), Win the Hour (it checks on your activities every hour and motivates you to do more if you are not achieving your goal), Fuel Rate (“tracks the rate at which NikeFuel is being earned”), Groups (lets users join friends and share their personal achievements), Double Tap for Time (access time in two touches of a button), Milestones (users will now get achievements for Sessions, Fuel Rate, streaks, and hours won).

Nike also announced for the first time the Nike+ Move app, as well as an update to the Nike+ Running app. The Nike+ Move app is specifically designed for iPhone 5S users who are new into FuelBand. The update for the Nike+ Running app adds Photo Sharing and Auto-Pause features; Auto-Pause detects the moment when the user has stopped running, then pauses and enables camera mode to take pics to be shared on Facebook, Instagram, Path and Twitter. When the person starts running again, the device once again starts tracking the user’s physical activities.

The Nike+ FuelBand SE will be on sale tomorrow at US$149.
