[Update]: The page has been removed from UbisoftConnect.com, but you can see a copy of it in the archive link. A Ubisoft representative told Gematsu the following: “We have pulled the Ubisoft Connect article and forum post regarding backwards compatibility for the time being as there may be inaccuracies involving the Ubisoft titles that will be playable on PS5.”
Most Ubisoft PS4 games will be playable on PlayStation 5, with the exception of a few titles that did not make the cut, the company announced via its website.
Ubisoft titles for Xbox One won’t be affected at all as they will all be playable on Xbox Series X/S. However, fans who have preferred the PlayStation 4 won’t be able to play the following titles on PS5:
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia
- Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy (which includes India, China and Russia)
- Star Trek Bridge Crew
- Werewolves Within
- Space Junkies
- Risk
Sony had already released earlier this month a list of 10 PS4 games that will not work on PS5. That list did not include any Ubisoft games. Though Sony did say an overwhelming number of its more than 4000 games would be playable on the upcoming console, it also said the list is subject to change.
