According to Polygon, the mobile version of Stadia will enter its initial testing phase this week.
The creation for a progressive web app is a way to avoid the restrictions by Apple on game-streaming apps. Apple is forcing services such as Xbox’s Project xCloud, Google Stadia, and Nvidia’s GeForce Now to provide games to be reviewed before being available on the App Store. With web apps, those companies will not be forced to pay Apple a mandatory 30% tax. Amazon is also working on a web app of its own.
Google also announced a limited-time offer. It’s giving away a free “Stadia Premiere Edition” package (worth $100, which comes with a Stadia controller and a Chromecast Ultra) with the pre-order of Cyberpunk 2077 before December 18.
