Though perhaps many fans expected a character from a franchise not seen before in the game, Sephiroth セフィロス smashed his way through with authority into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
As one of the best villains in the entire franchise, Sephiroth showed his talent and power against Cloud and many others. Mario, in particular, would have to be ready next time he confronts this FFVII villain. It’s perhaps the most dangerous situation Mario has ever been in.
A separate announcement by Nintendo on social media says Masahiro Sakurai will introduce more about Sephiroth at 5pm ET on Dec. 17.
