Microsoft released today the Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 3 United Kingdom and Ireland for Windows.
Today’s free brings a closer and detailed look of various locations “with dramatic upgrades and visual enhancements”. This latest update comes almost three months after the release of World Update 2.
The World Update 3 offers a “high-resolution 3D photogrammetry” of famous cities such as Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London and Oxford. Also included are five highly-detailed airports (Barra, Liverpool, Land’s End, Manchester-Barton and Out Skerries), five new meticulously hand-crafted airports (Barra, Liverpool, Land’s End, Manchester-Barton and Out Skerries), visual and logistical upgrades to 85 additional airports, and enhanced digital elevation data throughout the UK.
“In addition, we’ve added compelling architectural elements throughout the region, ranging from British manors and Victorian homes to countryside stone structures, castles and churches – and even some drive-thru restaurants. In addition, over 70 custom landmarks and points of interest bring stunning new levels of detail and fidelity to some of the world’s most famous landmarks and bridges, regal palaces, breathtaking cathedrals … and, of course, football stadiums.”
A trio of new activities are also included with the update: an Iconic Flight in the Northern Isles and two separate Landing Challenges-“an epic one up north on the Shetland archipelago, and a fierce one far south in the turbulent skies over Southeast England.”
Among the places fans will see from UK: Eden Project, Stonehedge, Salisbury Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, London Eye. From Scotland: The Forth Bridges, the National Wallace Monument, Eilean Donan Castle. From Ireland: Killarney National Park.
Check out the beautiful tour.
