Netflix has hired former EA and Facebook video game executive Mike Verdu to expand its success into the field of game streaming services.
As VP of Game Development at Netflix, he will report to COO Greg Peters.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Verdu has worked at Facebook as VP of AR/VR Content, at EA as SVP of EA Mobile and VP at EA Los Angeles. He has also worked for Kabam, TapZen, Zynga, Atari and Legend Entertainment. He enterd into the field of gaming in December 1990.
With its entry into game streaming, Netflix will join heavy-hitters such as Microsoft, Google and Amazon.
Netflix has already invested in films and TV shows that attract gamers.
