Japan Game Console Sales: Week of July 25-31, 2022

According to Famitsu, Japan game console sales went up once again during the week of July 25-31, 2022, reporting higher amounts than in recent weeks.

Nintendo maintained first place with 73,238 Switch units and 87 New 2DS LL units sold, which is 3,864 more Switch consoles sold and 38 less 2DS units sold. Sony continued in second place in console sales with 39,336 PS5 units sold, an increase of 28,142 PS5 units compared to the amount reported in the previous week. Microsoft also saw an increase in its console sales with 8,988 Xbox Series units sold, which is 3,976 more units sold than in the previously mentioned week.

Overall, the three companies sold 121,790 units for this reported week, compared to 85,716 units sold in the prior week, which is a difference of 36,074 units.
