Netflix’s action-horror Resident Evil series, which is loosely based on the well-known video game franchise, will not be getting a second season.
According to Deadline, the series did not get a big audience to satisfy Netflix to bring it back for season 2.
The series made its debut in July in second place (after Stranger Things) with 72.7 million hours viewed. During its second week, it reached 73.3 million hours viewed landing in third place. Resident Evil did not reach the top 10 after three weeks.
When it comes to ratings, the RE series didn’t reach the success it hoped for. It received a low 55% Tomatometer score from critics and a 27% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
It is unfortunate to see an early conclusion of the series on Netflix after just one season.
