Via social media, actor Henry Cavill announced that he will be playing Superman once again in future DC films. He made his appearance recently in the mid-credits scene of the Black Adam film.
“I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman,” Cavill said in an Instagram video earlier today. “The image you see on this post, and what you saw in Black Adam, are just a very small taste of things to come. There’s a lot to be thankful for, and I’ll get to that in time, but I wanted to thank you guys most of all for your support and your patience. I promise it will be rewarded.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Superman was first portrayed by a body double as the Black Adam team test-screened the scene without revealing the character’s face. After the contract was finalized sometime last month, Cavill shot his part of the scene in London.
