The Xbox Series X|S is still far behind with just over a thousand systems sold, while the Nintendo Switch family of consoles continues to rule Japan game console sales for the week of December 12–18, 2022.
For the aforementioned week, all three Switch versions collectively sold 163,556 units, or 69.045% of all console sales. With 68,819 units sold (or 29.05189% of total console units sold), the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital Edition remained in second place. Unfortunately for Microsoft, only 1,109 Xbox Series X|S units were sold.
Strangely enough, the PS4’s number of units sold (3,161) for the week of December 19-25 matched the one for the previously reported week of December 12-18.
