Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe got to beat the competition in Japan game sales charts for the week of February 20-26, 2023.
The new Kirby game, a remake of the Wii game Kirby’s Return to Dream Land with new additions, occupied first place with 189,031 Switch copies sold.
Meanwhile, all three console versions of Octopath Traveler II were made it into the Top 30 with a total of 75,686 copies sold. What remains to be seen is if there will be a Xbox Series X|S version of the game since the first game came out for Xbox One and therefore playable on Microsoft’s current console.
Like A Dragon: Ishin! landed in third and fourth place with a total of 67,336 copies sold. It is a remake of a Yakuza spinoff, however the story takes place in 1867, many decades before the events in Yakuza’s main titles.
Three other new games that made it into the Top 30 were: ARK: Survival Evolved (in 9th place with 13,200 Switch copies sold), Digimon World: Next Order International Edition (in 13th place with 7,140 Switch copies sold), and Horizon Call of the Mountain (in 16th place with 6,027 PS5 copies sold).
