Warner Bros. recently announced that it will be bringing together the HBO Max and Discovery Plus streaming services into one channel called Max. This new Max streaming service will include all the shows and movies currently available on HBO Max and Discovery Plus, such as Deadliest Catch, Succession, The Last of Us, House of the Dragon.
Max will also feature new content like A Knight of Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, as well as projects based on Harry Potter and The Big Bang Theory.
Discovery Plus and its programming will continue to be available as a lower-priced, standalone service.
The company announced that the new combined service will launch on May 23. The announcement was made at a press event held at Stage 14 on the company’s Burbank lot.
The streaming event on Wednesday happened just over a year after the $43 billion merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, a major deal centered around streaming. HBO Max, which faced some challenges along the way, was launched in 2020 by WarnerMedia when it was under AT&T’s ownership. AT&T then separated the entertainment company and merged it with Discovery, while still holding a significant share in the new entity.
Max will offer three pricing options, giving subscribers the choice to select which plan best fits the needs of their household.

2 concurrent streams, 1080p resolution, no offline downloads, 5.1 surround sound quality
- Max Ad Free | $15.99/month or $149.99/year
