A select group of subscribers in Canada and the UK are currently testing out a limited Netflix cloud gaming beta. The limited beta period starts today on select TVs and will be coming to PC’s and Mac’s via supported browsers in the upcoming weeks, said VP of Games at Netflix, Mike Verdu.
This initial test includes two games: Oxenfree from Netflix Game Studio Night School and the arcade game Molehew’s Mining Adventure. Netflix is letting players use phones for the mobile version and will let Windows and Mac users play with their keyboard and mouse. Netflix users on PCs and Macs can play using a keyboard and mouse via the company’s website.
Netflix has not announced yet when users in the US and other countries will be able to play games via the cloud.
What is known is that Netflix games will be playable via Amazon Fire TV Streaming Media Players, Chromecast with Google TV, LG TVs, Nvidia Shield TV, Roku devices and TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, and Walmart ONN. Other devices will be eventually added.
