Game developer Turtle Rock Studios should be proud of its continuing success. As the creators of ‘Left 4 Dead,’ the indie game developer announced today along with 2K that the upcoming title ‘Evolve,’ a 4v1 cooperative and competitive multiplayer shooter, has won ‘Best of Show’ at Gamescom 2014.
Along with the prestigious award of the event, Take-Two Interactive and Turtle Rock Studios also won ‘Best Console Game: Microsoft Xbox,’ ‘Best PC Game,’ ‘Best Action Game,’ and ‘Best Online Multiplayer Game.’
With these five awards, Evolve becomes the game with the most official awards any title has ever received at the event.
“We are blown away by the positive reception for Evolve from both the critics and the consumers here at Gamescom,” stated Phil Robb, co-founder and creative director at Turtle Rock Studios. “Winning the ‘Best of Show’ award at both E3 and Gamescom in the same year is humbling and exhilarating.”
Also, Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K, said: “It’s encouraging to see the level of excitement for ‘Evolve’ rise constantly. The team at Turtle Rock Studios is creating something very special with this new IP that we believe will deliver one of the most unique and engaging next-gen experiences early next year.”
The game will make its debut on February, 10, 2015, for next-generation consoles and PC.
