Due to the lack of Mac compatibility in hardware, Steam has decided to give its Valve Complete Pack to users who pre-ordered the Steam Link and/or the Steam Controller.
According to the email sent to people who pre-purchased the device(s), “the Steam Link currently doesn’t stream from Mac’s,” but will receive full streaming support (for video, audio, controller) via an update.
The Steam Controller does not offer support yet for gamepad emulation on Macs, unless one gets to opt-in into the Steam Beta client for emulation of keyboard and mouse to work. The gamepad emulation should be ready “in a few weeks.”
To apologize, Valve has added free of charge the Valve Complete Pack to the Steam account of users who made the pre-order. This pack gives users all Valve games (even the upcoming ones). Users will also have the option to a refund, but will keep the game pack anyway.
