The most difficult song to master in the video game music genre, DragonForce’s “Through the Fire and Flames,” is now available. To celebrate the occasion, the people at Activision are kicking off a five-day marathon known as Shred-a-thon, for players to show their skills by playing the hardest songs in the game. The event starts today and ends on Monday, February 8 at 7:00 am Pacific time.
Among the bands and their songs for this Shred-a-thon: DragonForce (“Through the Fire and Flames”), Alter Brisge (“Cry of Achilles”), Megadeth (“Hangar 18”), Lamb of God (“Ghost Walking”), and Trivium (“Strife”).
“Everyone at the studio has fond memories with ‘Through the Fire and Flames,’ so we decided to take it up a notch and combine it with the toughest songs in the game hand-picked by us to create the ultimate challenge: a five-day shredder marathon. It’s time to crank it up to expert difficulty and show us what you got!” said Jamie Jackson, Creative Director and Co-Head at FreeStyleGames.
